December:


Allentown to sell water to Lehigh County Authority for up to $1.2 million a year.  The city of Allentown has reached an agreement in principle to provide the Lehigh County Authority with up to 7 million gallons of water daily to meet its increasing demand, ending a two-year water supply battle.


Water deal in Lehigh may be clearing. Lehigh County Executive Don Cunningham said he and Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski have hashed out a deal under which Allentown would provide 7 million gallons of water per day to the LCA. The LCA has pursued the purchase in order to meet its expected need by 2016.


November:


No Resolution between Lehigh County and Allentown over water usage.  The study conducted by Allentown and the Lehigh County Authority leaves both sides no closer to an agreement on water usage.

           


 

Repair of Sewer lines a stopgap - Coopersburg has taken another big step in shoring up its leaking sewer lines, but could be years until prohibition on new sewer connections is lifted.



Upper Saucon OKs open space question - Township voters supported a tax increase to preserve open space.

October:


Lehigh, Northampton approve 'neutral' member for health board - Robert B. Black, vice president of Morris Black and Sons Inc., has been recommended by both counties to serve as the ''neutral'' member of the bi-county health board.
